Our Assessment:
At PhysioActive, we believe that how you move and breathe is essential to your overall well-being and has a significant influence on how quickly you heal, as well as on injury prevention. Your therapist always begins by conducting a physical assessment of the injured area, looking for any signs of inflammation, muscle imbalances, or limitations in range of motion. We will also inquire about your medical history and any previous injuries that may be relevant to the current injury. Based on our assessment, your therapist will develop a customized treatment plan with you that may include specific exercises and modifications to address your unique needs and goals.
Our Treatment:
Throughout the treatment process, your therapist will continually assess your progress and make adjustments to the treatment plan as needed. Your therapist will incorporate exercises that focus on strengthening and stretching specific areas of the body affected by the injury. These exercises are designed to help improve range of motion, flexibility, and muscle strength, while also addressing any imbalances that may have contributed to the injury. In addition to physical exercises, a yoga or Pilates-trained therapist may also incorporate mindfulness techniques, such as breathing exercises and meditation, to help manage any pain or discomfort associated with the injury. Breathing, flexibility, stability, stamina, balance, and strength are important pillars of health. They contribute to longevity, injury prevention, and the skill and confidence to do what you love. Your therapist will discuss the first principles of movement with you and help you move better right away.
It is important to note that a yoga or Pilates-trained therapist works in conjunction with other healthcare professionals, such as a physician or physical therapist, to ensure the safest and most effective treatment plan for you. At PhysioActive, you can be sure that your therapist is trained in the rehabilitation aspects of exercise, so you will always be safe and make the most rapid recovery possible.
Our Technology
At PhysioActive, we have a clinical reformer that allows us to start you at the perfect load and exercise. Sometimes, in order to do an exercise correctly, you need to make it very easy to start. Lying on your back or using a Pilates reformer can often be the key. We also have a red and infrared laser that can be used on the whole body while performing your yoga or Pilates exercises. This will warm the tissues, improve blood flow, and enhance nervous system function, giving you more energy and flexibility to perform your exercises.
Our therapists understand the importance of normalizing movement to maximize health. Strength, flexibility, and coordinated movement are essential for pain-free movement, injury prevention, optimal performance, and a general overall sense of well-being.

Pilates was originally developed as a rehabilitation tool that our therapists incorporate into each patient’s individualized exercise program, if appropriate. Our therapists believe in empowering our patients to take control of their conditions. At PhysioActive, our therapists spend a half an hour of one on one time with you at every session to ensure that you are performing your home program optimally.
Our therapists understand the importance of breathing. It is something we do 25,000 times a day, and most therapists and patients do not understand its importance. Many of the ancient arts, such as yoga, Pilates, and tai chi, incorporate breathing with normal movement patterns. We have had success eliminating neck pain merely by teaching people to breathe from their diaphragm instead of overusing their neck muscles.
Pilates and yoga are excellent tools to promote recovery, prevent injury, and enhance general well-being. We have specialized programs where we use yoga to assist patients diagnosed with scoliosis. However, we also incorporate yoga or yoga-inspired movements in our individualized exercise programs.
