Personal Exercise Programs
Our Assessment:
PhysioActive physiotherapists undergo extensive training and have specific skills to suit your needs. Our client care managers will suggest the most appropriate physiotherapist for your specific condition and goals. Each treatment plan is specifically tailored to you. All of our physiotherapists are trained to address a wide range of injuries. If you injured your knee, the therapy would be very different depending on whether you had a minor sprain, injured your meniscus, or completely ruptured your ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). General rules are just that—general. Telling someone to rest until the symptoms go away doesn’t make sense when rehabilitating the body anywhere else, so why is that prescribed when rehabilitating the most critical part of our body—the brain?
We assess you as a whole person. We don’t just look at the specific area of pain; we look at all the contributing factors that may have led to your injuries in the first place.
Our Treatment:
At PhysioActive, our treatment focuses on where you need the treatment the most and always keeps your goals in our sights. Our multi-modal approach (which incorporates education, hands-on or manual therapy, exercise, and treatment-enhancing modalities) is supported by evidence to optimize outcomes.
We don’t use preset protocols. Every treatment plan is tailored to you, as every patient is different and thus requires different interventions to optimize healing. We succeed where others fail. One of our greatest joys is helping clients who have been unsuccessful in treating their concussions with standard approaches to care. Our clients are so happy with their improvements and often wish they had come to us first.
Our Technology
At PhysioActive, we incorporate the most up-to-date and evidence-based technologies to complement your hands-on therapy. Our physiotherapists will use laser, electrotherapy, PEMF, or magnetic biostimulation, as well as the Game Ready ice and compression system to speed up your healing, reduce your pain more efficiently, and get you back to what you love sooner. PhysioActive uses various energies—sound, light, electricity, shockwave therapy, technology, apps, video feedback, motion analysis, heat, or cold—to enhance your rehabilitation experience. Technology complements the hands-on therapy, education, and exercise programs that form the foundation of your physiotherapy experience.
Personal Training Program

Personal Training, Movement Therapy, & Exercise Programs
Exercise is a major component of any physiotherapy program and is the best way for you to see benefitsmore quickly as well as to help sustain those results over time. Your physiotherapist will work with our Personal Trainer, Pilates instructor, or Movement Therapist to tailor an exercise plan to fit your goals while taking into consideration your abilities and schedule at the time.
A comprehensive gym allows for a more successful transition from patient to graduate. For patients who have gym/fitness memberships, we will advise you on how to work the routine into your program — with or without equipment — or provide advice on modifying your present program. We work cooperatively with your personal trainers to optimize your outcome.
We have a fully certified personal trainer on staff to help transition you from “rehabilitation” to activities of life, play, work or sport. If you would like us to recommend someone in the community we work closely with the national recognized “Trainer of the Trainers” Mauro Orrico. He has been featured on City-TV, CTV and teaches across the country.
To book a personal training, mat or reformer session with our personal trainers please call our office and we’d be pleased to schedule an appointment.
Exercise Prescription

The key to effective rehabilitation, injury prevention and improvement in posture is a properly designed exercise program specific to the level of the individual and frequent progression of those exercises.
During the rehabilitative process, there’s an exercise prescription for you. Your highly trained therapist will accurately assess what stage of strength and flexibility you are at and design a program specifically tailored for you. This program includes pictures, videos, and specific instructions to make it easy for you to exercise away!
Our therapists have worked with Olympic athletes, professional sports figures, musicians, concussion patients, stroke patients ranging in age from the young to the elderly. Surprisingly, all require a similar approach to the therapy in an individually tailored manner. The goal is to maximize posture and movement efficiency. This requires flexibility, strength, neural coordination, an integrated nervous system, vision and autonomic nervous system-regulated blood supply and hormone delivery. All of these can be effectively influenced by your therapist at PhysioActive.
From simple post-operative rehabilitation to elite sports performance or to just the simple tasks of daily life, you and your therapist can work together to provide an exercise program designed to reach your goals.
Why Should I Do Personal Training at PhysioActive?
