Healing Technologies
Our Assessment:
Though not typically a treatment in isolation, we use these technologies to supercharge your recovery. A detailed assessment of your condition and the underlying causes of your complaints will be addressed. A plan of care will be discussed, including how and why healing technologies would be included in your plan. If you are dedicated to your recovery and are attending therapy regularly (like the pros would), these technologies will help you feel better faster, restore blood flow, and promote healing and repair in areas of your body that may not have the power to heal itself. Sometimes, tech like shockwave therapy can be the boost your body needs to begin repairing itself.
Our Treatment:
Your healing technologies are explained to you, and the frequency and type will be discussed with you so that you fully understand your care plan. In most cases, these technologies help you feel better faster, but in some cases, we may tell you that a few sessions are necessary to start the body on its healing process. IMS, shockwave, and the BioFlex laser (you may have read about this laser in The Brain’s Way of Healing by Norman Doidge, MD).
Our Technology
We have a mechanical traction device, MBS, or PEMF that penetrates very deep. We have a full-sized red and infrared light unit that can stimulate blood flow to your whole body and can be used while exercising. We have a Pilates reformer, a full range of exercise equipment, and apps to train your eyes and track your progress. We also have old-school tech like electrotherapy, including microcurrent, which has been shown to heal and loosen fascia. We use cupping therapy, dry needling, acupuncture, and so much more to make sure that we have everything and anything you need to get better as quickly as possible so that you can get back to living pain-free and doing what you love.

How Light and Laser Therapy Work for Healing, Anti-Inflammation, and Pain Relief
When you’re dealing with pain, inflammation, or a slow-healing injury, it can be frustrating to find the right solution. That’s where light and laser therapy come in—offering a non-invasive, scientifically backed way to support your body’s natural healing processes.
How Does Light and Laser Therapy Work?
Light and laser therapy use specific wavelengths of light to penetrate deep into your tissues, where they interact with your cells to promote healing. This process is often referred to as photobiomodulation. Here’s how it works:
- Cellular Energy Boost: When the light reaches your cells, particularly the mitochondria (the energy producers of the cells), it stimulates the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP). ATP is essential for cellular function, providing the energy your cells need to repair and regenerate damaged tissues.
- Anti-Inflammatory Effects: Light and laser therapy help reduce inflammation by improving blood flow to the affected area. This increased circulation brings more oxygen and nutrients to the tissues while helping to remove waste products and inflammatory markers. As a result, swelling and inflammation decrease, allowing your body to heal more efficiently.
- Pain Relief: Light and laser therapy also provide significant pain relief. The treatment reduces the sensation of pain by decreasing the activity of nerve cells that transmit pain signals. Additionally, the therapy promotes the release of endorphins—your body’s natural painkillers—providing immediate and lasting relief.
Why Choose Light and Laser Therapy?
Light and laser therapy offer a gentle, non-invasive way to support your body’s healing process. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or dealing with inflammation, this therapy can help you feel better faster. It’s a safe and effective option that can be used alongside other treatments to enhance your overall recovery.
At PhysioActive, we’re here to help you explore the benefits of light and laser therapy and create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs. How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?
When you’re dealing with stubborn pain or injuries that just won’t heal, it’s natural to feel frustrated and unsure of your next steps. That’s where shockwave therapy can make a significant difference—offering a non-invasive, highly effective treatment option to help you get back on track.
How Shockwave Therapy Works
Shockwave therapy uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate your body’s natural healing processes. These sound waves are delivered to the affected area through a specialized device that generates rapid pulses. Here’s what happens during and after the treatment:
- Stimulating Blood Flow: The sound waves create microtrauma in the targeted tissues, which might sound concerning, but this is actually a good thing. This controlled damage prompts your body to increase blood flow to the area, bringing in essential nutrients and oxygen that promote healing.
- Breaking Down Scar Tissue: Over time, injuries can lead to the formation of scar tissue, which can be rigid and limit your range of motion. Shockwave therapy helps break down these adhesions, restoring flexibility and allowing your tissues to move more freely.
- Reducing Pain and Inflammation: The therapy also has an analgesic effect, meaning it helps reduce pain. It does this by desensitizing nerve endings and reducing inflammation in the treated area. This means shockwave therapy not only addresses the root cause of your pain, but it also helps you feel better more quickly.
- Promoting Tissue Regeneration: Finally, shockwave therapy stimulates the production of collagen, a vital protein in the healing process. This encourages the regeneration of tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues, helping them heal more effectively.
Why Choose Shockwave Therapy?
Shockwave therapy is an excellent choice for those dealing with chronic pain, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, or injuries that haven’t responded well to other treatments. It’s non-invasive, meaning there’s no need for surgery or medication, and it typically requires little to no downtime, allowing you to continue with your daily activities.
At PhysioActive, we’re committed to offering the most advanced and effective treatments available to help you heal. If you’re curious about whether shockwave therapy could be right for you, we’re here to guide you through the process. How Does Magnetic Biostimulation (PEMF) Work?
When you’re dealing with chronic pain, inflammation, or slow-healing injuries, it’s natural to seek therapies that can offer real relief and speed up your recovery. Magnetic Biostimulation, also known as Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy, is a cutting-edge treatment that does just that—helping your body heal more effectively by harnessing the power of magnetic energy.
How Magnetic Biostimulation (PEMF) Works
PEMF therapy works by using electromagnetic fields to stimulate and heal your body at the cellular level. Here’s how it makes a difference:
- Enhancing Cellular Function: Every cell in your body has its own electromagnetic field, and PEMF therapy interacts with these fields to improve cellular function. The electromagnetic pulses help replenish your cells, promoting better energy production and improving their ability to repair and regenerate.
- Boosting Circulation: One of the key benefits of PEMF is its ability to enhance blood flow to the treated area. Improved circulation delivers more oxygen and nutrients to your tissues, which accelerates the healing process. It also helps remove waste products and toxins more efficiently, reducing inflammation and swelling.
- Reducing Pain and Inflammation: PEMF therapy is particularly effective at reducing pain and inflammation. By influencing nerve cells and reducing the sensitivity of pain receptors, it provides significant relief from chronic pain. The therapy also promotes the release of endorphins, your body’s natural painkillers, which further alleviates discomfort.
- Supporting Tissue Regeneration: PEMF therapy doesn’t just treat the symptoms; it helps address the underlying causes of your pain or injury. By stimulating the production of collagen and other key components of connective tissue, it supports the repair and regeneration of tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. This makes it a valuable tool for recovering from injuries and managing conditions like arthritis.
Why Choose PEMF Therapy?
PEMF therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment that can be a powerful addition to your recovery plan. Whether you’re dealing with a chronic condition, recovering from surgery, or looking for a way to manage pain without relying on medications, PEMF offers a safe and effective solution. It’s a therapy that works in harmony with your body’s natural processes, helping you heal faster and feel better.
At PhysioActive, we believe in providing comprehensive care that addresses both the symptoms and the root causes of your health challenges. If you’re interested in exploring how Magnetic Biostimulation (PEMF) can support your healing journey, we’re here to help. How Does Electrotherapy Work?
When you’re dealing with pain, muscle weakness, or nerve issues, finding effective treatment can feel overwhelming. Electrotherapy offers a safe, non-invasive way to help your body heal and function better by using electrical impulses to target specific areas of concern. Understanding how electrotherapy works can give you confidence in its ability to support your recovery.
How Electrotherapy Works
Electrotherapy involves the use of controlled electrical impulses to stimulate your muscles, nerves, and tissues. Here’s how it helps improve your health and well-being:
- Stimulating Nerve and Muscle Function: Electrotherapy works by sending gentle electrical currents through the skin to the underlying muscles and nerves. These currents stimulate the nerves, which can help reduce pain signals sent to the brain. For muscles, the stimulation induces them to contract and relax, which can be especially beneficial if you’re recovering from an injury or surgery and need to regain strength.
- Enhancing Blood Flow and Healing: The electrical impulses used in electrotherapy also improve blood circulation to the targeted area. Increased blood flow brings more oxygen and essential nutrients to your tissues, promoting faster healing and reducing inflammation. This improved circulation also helps eliminate waste products and toxins from the body, which can further support the healing process.
- Pain Relief: One of the key benefits of electrotherapy is its ability to provide pain relief. By stimulating the nerves, electrotherapy can block pain signals from reaching the brain, offering relief from both acute and chronic pain conditions. Additionally, the therapy encourages the release of endorphins—your body’s natural painkillers—which further alleviates discomfort.
- Reducing Muscle Spasms: Electrotherapy is also effective at reducing muscle spasms and tension. The electrical impulses can help relax tight muscles, improving flexibility and reducing the discomfort that often accompanies muscle spasms. This can be particularly beneficial for those dealing with conditions like sciatica, lower back pain, or post-injury stiffness.
- Supporting Nerve Regeneration: For individuals dealing with nerve damage or conditions like peripheral neuropathy, electrotherapy can aid in nerve regeneration. The gentle stimulation helps reactivate nerves that have been damaged or are not functioning properly, promoting recovery and restoring sensation.
Why Choose Electrotherapy?
Electrotherapy is a versatile and effective treatment option that can be tailored to address a wide range of conditions, from pain relief and muscle weakness to nerve dysfunction and post-surgical recovery. Because it’s non-invasive and typically pain-free, it’s an excellent choice for those looking to avoid more aggressive treatments or medications.
At PhysioActive, we integrate electrotherapy into our comprehensive care plans to help you achieve the best possible outcomes. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or working to improve muscle and nerve function, electrotherapy can play a crucial role in your journey to better health.
