Hamstring Injuries
When you tear a muscle it can be quite mild (achiness in the back of the leg, or at the start of the hastings at your seat bones, or where it attaches on the outside or inside of the back of your knee.
If a severe tear occurs you will likely have pain and difficulty lifting your leg backward or bending your knee.
Frequently it can take a few days for your bruising to show itself. It isn’t uncommon for the bruising to show up further down the leg than where the tear occurs.
Preventing complications of retaining blood in your leg is essential. It is important that you get in to see your therapist ASAP if you suspect a large tear in your hamstrings.
