Costochondritis – Injection
Costochondritis is a condition in which the cartilage that connects a rib to the breastbone becomes inflamed.
The exact cause of costochondritis is unknown, but it can be triggered by physical trauma, overuse of the chest muscles, or an underlying condition such as osteoarthritis or fibromyalgia.
Symptoms of costochondritis include sharp chest pain, tenderness in the chest wall, and pain that worsens with deep breathing or pressing on the affected area.
The following are three exercises that can help with recovery from costochondritis:
- Gentle stretching: Stretching the chest, shoulder, and rib muscles can help relieve pain and improve mobility.
- Strengthening exercises: Targeting the chest, shoulder, and back muscles with exercises such as push-ups, rows, and lat pulldowns can help improve posture and stability in the chest area.
- Heat therapy: Applying heat to the affected area can help relieve pain and improve flexibility.
