Calf Strain or Cramping

The calf is one of the most common areas of the body to cramp. Cramping usually occurs at night, when dehydrated or after strenuous exercise

Calf strains present with pain in the back of the calf usually with tender spots in the muscle belly. Typically if you suffer from repeated calf strains of tight calves, the sciatic nerve and low back almost always are contributing to your problem. Try bending backward and tilting to the side of your calf. If you feel more pain or stiffness or a difference side to side, you will likely require back treatment along with your calf.

Home self treatment could include cupping, foam rolling and stretching.
