Osteopathy
How can Osteopathy help you and your family?
Osteopathy is a gentle manual treatment (using the osteopaths’ hands) that restores the motion of the joints, nerves, & organs of the body. The restoration of the body’s function unleashes the body’s own ability to heal itself. With improved nutrition and improved waste removal, the injured area has the capacity to heal itself. Our manual osteopathic practitioners use gentle “hands-on” techniques that include cranio-sacral therapy, visceral therapy, dural and other myofascial techniques. Many of these are performed piece meal by other practioners. Only in osteopathy do you receive a comprehensive assessment and treatment for what will best help the client.
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy recognizes the importance of the link between the structure of the human body and the way it functions. It is one of the most effective and safe treatments for a great number of our health problems, looking at the relationship between how well your body could be working to how well it is actually working at the moment.
Utilizing a highly developed sense of touch, we identify problem areas of the body. Using gentle stretching and mobilizing techniques, we restore health and motion within the body to create the perfect conditions to facilitate the healing process. We prevent the problem or injury from recurring by taking away those reasons that allowed it to occur in the first place.

Treatment usually consists of a combination of soft-tissue releasing techniques, and some specific adjustments affecting joints and soft-tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments). Advice can be given on self help treatments.
