What is Nutritional Counselling?
Nutritional counselling can be useful in the management of pain and stiffness. Eating properly can help with cartilage repair, neural functioning, speeding up your recovery from injury or illness. Diet has been shown to be an integral part of the recovery in the treatment of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain .
Improvement in how we eat, improves our overall well being and function.
For example, when walking stairs our knees absorb 5 times our body weight on each step. Losing just 5 pounds will decrease 25 pound of pressure on your arthritic knees. By losing weight and increaseing the intake of foods that help with cartilage repair will reduce pain and suffering of those with mild, moderate and even severe arthritis.
Other health conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high coholestorl can be improved through diet.
How can Nutritional Counselling Help Me?
Changing my nutritional intake can help individuals by:
- Improving anti-oxidant intake has shown to reduce inflammation and pain.
- Increase in Magnesium has shown to reduce muscle spasms and cramping
Foods also affect our hormonal production. By simple changes in our diets a client will better regulate their hormones, improving sleep, pain and other symptoms.
